23rd Oct 2015 - Wesport Celebration of Sport Awards
On Friday 23rd Oct Wesport held it's Celebration of Sport Evening 2015 at Bristol Hotel, Bristol. The event was attended by nominees and their guests across a number of sports supported by Wesport in the west of England.
TBNC was nominated for the Club of the Year category, awarded "In recognition of a sports club who has shown significant development over the
year, by increasing opportunities and/or developing its participants or workforce, making a contribution to the local community or gaining or maintaining accreditation."
To read the full nomination please click here, but in brief TBNC has been recognised for our success in 2014/2015, winning 6 divisions - Avon U14 Div 1, Avon U16 Div 2, Avon U16 Div 1, Avon Senior Div 2, Avon Senior Div 1 and SW Regional Div 3 - and our U16 Regional squads achieving 10th place in the National Finals. Additionally, we mentor and support those wishing to undertake coaching and umpiring qualifications, and last year we were able to support 10 juniors on a Youth umpiring course.
Huge congratulations to all players, coaches, umpires and volunteers who enabled the club to achieve this fantastic award and many thanks to Emily Harrison for nominating the club.
3rd May 2016 - U16 Regional squad finish 10th at National finals
The U16 Regional squad travelled to Essex on 2nd/3rd May to attend the National Club Finals 2015.
Saturday morning saw the squad finish second in their group after the following results Loss Vs Telstars 40-19 Win Vs Grangetown 28-18
and in the afternoon the following results meant that the squad went into Sunday competing for 7th - 12th place
Loss vs Tameside 43-18 Win vs Futureprint 40-12
Squad: Natasha Soodeen, Becks Pignatelli, Sophie Hay,Holly Davies, Corinne Bowen. Jazz Hennessy, Lucy Brigly, Annie O'Rourke, Millie Stanford, Libby Walter, Issy Roynon and Georgia Hennessey
Georgia wins the shooting competition giving goodie bags to all squad members - very well done!
Sunday proved to be another strong contest with games against Eastwood and Oldham
and the final play off for 9th/10th saw our girls up against old rivals Hucclecote, but although they fought hard Hucclecote pipped them to the post
